Jones Family Updates

Today I’m taking a trip to Sea World with Kathie and Care Meridian. I want to share with you today the lyrics to a song and an Oswald Chambers devotion that has reminded me that in our daily struggle(s), I believe in a God who is in control of my Uncertainty. Gracious Uncertainty from My Utmost for His Highest, April 29. . . . it has not yet been revealed what we shall be . . . 1 John 3:2 “Our natural inclination is to be so precise—trying always to forecast accurately what will happen next—that we look upon uncertainty as a bad thing. We think that we must reach some predetermined goal, but that is not the nature of the spiritual life... Certainty is the mark of the commonsense life—gracious uncertainty is the mark of the spiritual life… We are not uncertain of God, just uncertain of what He is going to do next… Leave everything to Him and it will be gloriously and graciously uncertain how He will come in—but you can be certain that He will come. Remain faithful to Him.”...

I have written to you in the past about my difficulty leaving Kathie in the evenings or when we have had an especially good visit. My schedule as a father, caregiver and employee requires way too much and I struggle to the point of quiet tears. I live by Faith, not by my own strength. When I returned home after missing Kath, I read Psalm 84: 4-8 (NLT) What joy for those who can live in your house, always singing your praises. What joy for those whose strength comes from the Lord, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. When they walk through the Valley of Weeping, it will become a place of refreshing springs. The autumn rains will clothe it with blessings. They will continue to grow stronger, and each of them will appear before God in Jerusalem. O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies, hear my prayer.
