NOVEMBER 22, 2012
Blessed it the one who waits. (Daniel 12:12).
Waiting
may seem like an easy thing to do, but it is a discipline that a Christian
soldier does not learn without (7) years of training…
There
are times of indecision and confusion, when even the most willing person, who
eagerly desires to serve the Lord, does not know what direction to take. So
what should you do when you find yourself in this situation?...
You should
simply wait - but wait in prayer… wait in faith… wait in quiet patience…
Accept your
situation exactly as it is and then simply place it with your whole heart into
the hand of your covenant God… “Lord, Not
my will, but yours be done.” [Luke 22:42]. I do not know what to do, and Kathie
is in great need… I will wait even if You keep me here many days (7 years), for
my heart is fixed on You alone, dear Lord. And my spirit will wait with full
confidence that You will still be my joy and my salvation.”
Call upon God and plead your case before Him,
telling Him of your difficulty and reminding Him of His promise to help. Streams in the Desert, November 20.
Today
is Thanksgiving Day, part of our family celebrated yesterday as my brother was
in town and leaving Wednesday. Last night, after taking care of Kathie’s bath,
I had trouble leaving her bedside. Many nights I have stroked her hair until
she falls asleep then I quietly leave, but when her eyes are open and looking
at me I struggle to leave that moment of connection we have. On Halloween night
she looked at me for an hour and a half, I thanked God for that time.
I spoke
with a friend this morning who was injured, lost a daughter and two grandchildren in a September
traffic accident, I reminded her that it is ok to be thankful even though the
greeting Happy Thanksgiving is shared, and you don’t feel the happy but your are still thankful.
Today
is also Kathie’s Birthday, although we have marked 7 birthdays since the
accident, we still celebrate Kathie and her impact on our lives.
In
Thanksgiving and in the hand of your covenant God,
Dave
& Kathie
