JANUARY 17, 2011
I have thought of writing many times as this new year has started but never took the time. Completing our fifth holiday season (I mark Halloween to New Year's as a difficult family time) without Kathie was again an expected emotional time. In God's care, we continue to run the "small business" that is Kathie's Care making sure that bills are paid, her nails are filed and polished, while always searching for ways to make her comfortable. The task of bringing her home has been put on hold for the moment, it will require a live-in caregiver and these changes to our family-life will require a great deal of work. This year Madison graduates from high school and Hannah promotes to high school. In 2011 we will continue monthly day-outings through Care Meridian and I'm looking at trips out for just Kath and I also, weekly massages and I try to be at her side five to six times a week.
Daniel 6:20, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you?"
As I read questions in the Bible, many times I will add my name, asking the question of myself by putting my name in the passage. My faith is strong, mentally though I feel worn by the daily tasks. Throughout these years, we continue our theme of "Choosing Joy" as God leads us through each day.
Blessings,
David, servant of the living God.

Ha ha!! It IS a "small business" to keep up with the paperwork and caregiving and love of our dear ones! So much shared, understood "life" on each end of this story of brain injury survival.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless your 2011, Dave and Kathie!
